BlueSnap Onboarding Checklist
We are very excited to help you get started processing payments with BlueSnap so you can increase your authorization rates, decrease abandonment, avoid unnecessary fees, reduce tech debt and more.
Here is an easy checklist to help you set up everything in the BlueSnap Merchant Portal to Go Live. Most items are accessible under the “Settings” menu in the top righthand corner of the Portal. If you have any questions or would like a walkthrough, please respond to the email from your Implementation Specialist or email [email protected].
Required Settings
General Settings – Email Settings
Check and verify all appropriate email addresses are correct.
General Settings – Branding Settings
Fill in the Default Statement Descriptor: this must be your company name or web address.
Add your Support Phone Number.
Complete all the additional fields under Branding Settings. Use URL links from your website for:
- Terms & Conditions
- Privacy Policy
- Refund Policy
- Your Tax ID or VAT/GST ID
API Settings
Generate your API credential. This setup guide provides the details.?
Payout Method – Payment Settings
Provide your banking details so you will be paid out appropriately. And don’t forget to set a value for the Refund Reserve to cover potential refunds or chargebacks. Consult the Payout setup guide for more information.
PCI Self-Assessment
You need to complete the PCI Self-Assessment within 30 days after your Go-Live date. Please see instructions here.
Optional Settings
BlueSnap’s Merchant Portal offers additional settings to help you get the most out of your payments.
User Accounts?
While creating additional user accounts is optional, this allows you to grant users access to your BlueSnap account via the Merchant Portal. You can set permission restrictions on a user-by-user basis. See the User setup guide for more information. ?
Webhook Settings
Using BlueSnap’s Webhooks is completely optional. Learn more about them in our documentation.?
3D Secure – Required for EU/UK Transactions
We suggest you enable 3D Secure on your account via Settings – Fraud Settings to comply with PSD2 regulations on two factor authentication for online transactions. This is required for transactions in European Economic Area, including the UK. Learn more in our documentation.
Account Updater
If you plan to support subscriptions or returning shoppers, we suggest you take advantage of Account Updater. This way, when you store card details, BlueSnap will automatically update payment information when it changes or a card expires. Learn more in our Account Updater guide, and reach out to Support with any questions.
BlueSnap Status Page
Bookmark our system status page as a reference for current BlueSnap system up-time. On the page, you can elect to receive notifications should a system-wide incident occur by clicking the “Subscribe to Updates” button.
